Gain More Space In Your Home, Add a Storage Shed to Your Backyard…It’s More Affordable Than You Think
Posted by: Guest Author / Category: Real EstateLet me guess, your house is packed with your valuable possessions. In fact, your closets are jam packed. And to add insult on injury you have even more stuff in a rented storage complex or, at least you are thinking about it.
Without question, many families like yours are finding it difficult of have enough room for everybody. Most likely, you have stacks of books and papers that you have to move when having dinner. The ’study area’ is cramping your lifestyle. You swear that you know first hand what it’s like to be a sardine.
Adding on to your house may have crossed your mind. Have you ever thought about the drawbacks of cost and inconvenience? The first and foremost problem is cost. Traditionally, you will be fortunate to recoup your investment with a remodel. Next are you prepared for your life to be disrupted? It will be. Imagine that you will be urban camping. Luxuries like hot water, fully operating kitchen, a house that is fully secured from the elements will be temporarily on hold.
Now, how about moving to a larger house? This may be a viable option. In fact, it may be a better idea. Maybe that is. Now you are forced to sell you current house. Make sure that you do that first. It is always a delicate dance buying one house and selling another. Too many times you get stuck with two mortgages.
There is an unusual alternative. One that is actually pretty darn smart. Build a Shed. It sounds crazy but true. We aren’t talking about the garden variety shed here. Nope, think of it as a shed on steroids. Sort of a mini…what ever you want it to be. This is the new generation of shed. This type of shed is built to the same (if not better) standards as your house.
The uses for your shed are limitless. You can use it as playroom for your children. In a way, the shed becomes your children’s retreat. Which in turn creates a more pleasing environment for the entire family. Your shed can also function for your craft projects. Now you can work on projects without having to continually pack and unpack your supplies. Think of how much more efficient you can be. Now, not only is life more convenient, you have extra time and reduced clutter inside your home.
Of course, having a dedicated studio will create the best environment; you will not have to continually jockey with supplies.
It is hard to believe that your workout room’s cost could be similar to that of an upscale fitness club’s membership. How about creating that den you been wanting, or, the gardening shed with a potting bench. You will now have the opportunity to work regardless of weather.
In all, there are many uses and design concepts you can have for your shed. You have the opportunity to take the bull by the horns and build the shed yourself with the help from excellent shed plans, training and coaching. Or, you can have your shed built for yourself. Either way, with the right team, you will be pleased with the results. Just make sure to seek guidance from an outside source with a lot of experience. This will be the foundation for the success of your shed project.
